Lots of Progress–Mostly Behind the Scenes

It was a busy summer for NorCal, but a lot of it was behind the scenes work by many hard-working volunteers and staff. From the onset, our plan was to build a first-class camp and adventure area that could be enjoyed by not only our council but the surrounding communities. And what comes with that is a little bureaucracy with the county and a lot of architectural and engineering planning by us. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been up to the past couple of months:

The NorCal Vision

If you’ve been following the NorCal Blog the past 18 months or so you know that most of our posts have been focused on keeping everyone updated on construction-related projects.  In a previous post, Mark Shafer outlined all the key project construction plans for 2018. With that, we thought now would be a great time to update everyone on some of the more strategic aspects of the NorCal Adventure Area. Things are Hopping at NorCal!

As we mentioned in our last post, this Spring is going to be a busy one at NorCal, and the action has begun! There are a few projects in the works, including:

Road Building

If you’re a regular reader of this blog you know that our plans call for building a road that circles the entire camp. With the recent macerator work and some further timber work currently being done, we’re making some progress on this project. The area around the camp that the road will be on has now been marked by our civil engineer and he is working to place it on the site plan for future planning of the camp water and electrical infrastructure.
